On-device processing
Text cleanup runs in the browser. Translation uses Chrome's built-in Translator API when available and is designed to remain on the device. There is no file-upload box.
Free Word allowance
The browser stores a random anonymous ID. The server stores word and download counts, time, job ID, and a one-way document fingerprint. A one-way network hash provides a secondary anti-abuse limit. Source and translated text are not stored in quota records.
Payment metadata
The server may receive the job ID, language pair, word count, price tier, status, time, and a one-way fingerprint. Document text is not sent to the payment provider.
Xendit and PayPal
Payments are processed by Xendit or PayPal under the selected provider's privacy terms. TranslateExpress verifies successful payment on the server before enabling the clean download.
Performance and error measurement
If you allow measurement, we record Core Web Vitals, a page group, release version, and anonymous success or error counts from a fixed list of technical events. These records never include source or translated text, clipboard contents, email, job or payment IDs, Word unlock codes, URL queries, or browser-storage contents. Raw records are retained for no more than eight days and are used only for aggregates and operational alerts.
Browser storage
For payment recovery, the browser temporarily stores the source, translation, and Word settings on this device for up to six hours. This allows the clean Word download to continue across a PayPal popup, another tab, or a page reload. The temporary document is removed after a successful clean Word download and is never sent to PayPal or Xendit. Clearing site data removes it immediately, but a network limit may continue during the quota window.
